Disaster Recovery

FEMA - 1268, Winter Storm and FEMA - 1351, Winter Storm:

In the Fall of 2000 and the Winter 2001 winter storms damaged a significant amount of public infrastructure in several Wyoming counties. As a result of this damage, several counties were declared Federal Disaster areas by the President. During the ensuing months we provided technical assistance to the Wyoming Emergency Management Agency and the affected local governments on the Federal Regulations that apply to FEMA Public Assistance Grants. The assistance included advising grant recipients on proper cost documentation, performing final inspections verifying that the work performed by the grant recipient had been completed within the original scope of work and reviewing final cost documentation for compliance with federal regulations.

FEMA Unmet Needs Grant:

In the Fall of 2001 the Federal Emergency Management Agency awarded grants to Niobrara Electric Association, Town of Lusk and City of Torrington to improve infrastructure that had been damaged in previous disasters. The grants were to be administered by Wyoming Emergency Management Agency. We provided services to the State Agency to help administer the FEMA funds. As the grants manager, we fulfilled the Agency's fiduciary responsibilities by reviewing and processing payment requests, advising the subgrantees on compliance with the federal stipulations, providing final inspection of the facilities and the cost documentation at project completion.
